The problem is that once the document leaves our control, we have no way of ensuring that the client or end user is referring to the latest or up to date copy. Clients license software from us, but as we go through the negotiation process, those documents can go through a number of iterations. How do you ensure that the client is using a valid version? Version numbers can help, but the client doesn’t know that whether the version they’re looking at is the latest. Similarly for specifications and quotations and with quotations hanging around you can be giving a hostage to fortune... The solution? -
