Picasso is thought to be one of the most important artists of all time. He was born in Malaga, Spain.

Picasso had trouble learning as a child. He had dyslexia. He was frustrated with school and liked to doodle in class. Picasso was so talented that he had his first art show at the age of 13. This painting was in his show.

When Picasso heard of his friend’s death, he was very, very sad. Picasso found himself only able to paint in blues. Blue is usually used to create a very somber mood. The creation of the following paintings were from Picasso’s feelings after the death of a good friend.
