2. The name of Allah Allah is so great that he cannot be described. The Qur’an helps us to understand what Allah is like because it uses many different names to tell us about the character of Allah. There are 99 names of Allah in the Qur’an, and they all say something about what we believe Allah is like.

3. The Bismillah It is translated as ‘In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful’. Almost every surah (chapter) in the Qur’an begins with the words of the bismillah. When we say that Allah is ‘the compassionate’ and ‘the merciful’, they mean that Allah is kind in the way He deals with people.

4. Why is the belief in the compassion and mercy of Allah important for Muslims? Without this belief, we would feel hopeless. This belief gives us courage that it is worth striving to live a good life. It strengthens our love for Allah. Allah will always be fair with us and never lead us astray.
