Who invented it? The inventors named on the MP3 patent are Bernard Gill, Karl-Heinz Brandenburg, Thomas Spores, Bernard Kurten & Ernst Eberlein.

What can MP3 Players do? mP3 Players can do many things such as listening to music, downloading music, some you can play games, put pictures on there listen to the radio and some you can even get on the internet.

What is the benefit of using this device? Now and days it’s all about convenice the smaller, the better. The days are gone when you had to carry and buy those expensive CD Players and walkman cassette and tapes to have your music playing with you at all times. Now you just use chargers instead of batteries.

Development of MP3 Player Timeline 1989-The MP3 format patented in Germany. 1996-A U.S patent is granted to the German inventors of the MP3 player format. 1997-The first MP3 player playback which is named AMP is invented. 1998- Two German college students bring the AMP playback engine to Windows & create Winamp which is the first MP3 playback software for Windows.

History of MP3 Player Timeline 1987 - The Fraunhofer Institut in Germany began research code which was named EUREKA project EU147, Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB). 1987 - The Fraunhofer Institut in Germany began research code which was named EUREKA project EU147, Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB). 1988 - MPEG was established as a subcommittee of the International Standards Organization & International Electrotechnical Commission. 1989- Fraunhofer recevied a German patent for the MP3. 1992 - Fraunhofer's and Dieter Seitzer’s audio coding algorithm was integrated into MPEG-1. 1993 - MPEG-1 was published. 1994 - MPEG-2 was developed and published a year later. 1996- A United States patent is issued for MP3. 1998-Fraunhofer started to enforce their patent rights. What does MP3 stand for? MP3 stands for and is apart of Motion Pictures Expert Group (MPEG Audio Layer III).

MP3 Players vs. IPods An IPod is different from an MP3 Player because the IPod is made by Apple which have specific designs and features. IPods have released many different generations such as the IPod shuffle, IPod touch. And the classics IPods. MP3 Players how ever does not have an specific designs or generations.
