What is the Kyoto Protocol? Kyoto Protocol is a plan to try reduce the effects of climate changes, such as global warming For example: The plan says to the countries that try to reduce the carbon dioxide and the greenhouse gases

Consequences and benefits On 2009, 183 countries agreed to follow the Kyoto Protocol

Climate changes The Usa reduced 7% The European Union reduced 8% Russia reduced 0% Japan reduced 6% Canada reduced 6% But, Australia increased 8%

Nowadays As of September 2011, 191 states have signed and ratified the protocol. Under the Kyoto Protocol, 37 industrialized countries and the European Community (the European Union-15, made up of 15 states at the time of the Kyoto negotiations) commit themselves to binding targets for GHG emissions.
