Why Small Business Saturday Headlines Today – Weak retail in June raises back-to-school stakes – Retail Stocks (MarketWatch) – Economy Hitting “Stall Speed,” Again (WSJ) – US retail sales fall for 3 rd straight month – (LA Times) – Grocery prices headed higher as drought lingers – NBC Nightly News Our Small Businesses Need Help – Small Business Saturday will attract consumers and allow our business owners to do what they do best – provide great products and exceptional service Are We Part of the Problem or Part of the Solution – Small businesses need our help and the 36,000 households in Flagler County (2010 Census) can make a difference – Flagler County is home for over 97,000 people – Our small business owners employee our citizens, pay local taxes, and their children attend local schools. – Small businesses create 75% of net new jobs in the US economy (US Gov’t recent statistics)

What Do We Hope To Accomplish Create a Positive Environment – We can create our own economic headlines and put aside the doom and gloom reports about State, National, or the Global Economy – Allow residents to show appreciation for the small businesses that CREATE AND RETAIN the local jobs – Allow business owners to develop marketing and promotional strategies designed to attract our residents and tourists to their stores

How Consumers Will Identify Participating Businesses Advertising – Beach 92.7 – BAC Update (every Monday on 106.3 FM and 1550 AM) – Daytona News Journal – Palm Coast Observer Day of Event – Event signage at entrances to locations with participating small businesses – Window sign (same as event signage) at participating business Palm Coast BAC Website – www.palmcoastbac.com/sbs www.palmcoastbac.com/sbs Open Small Business Saturday tab and open list of participating businesses. Business address and contact information along with any deal/promotion/discount being offered. This list is printable. Palm Coast BAC Facebook – Consumers provide feedback on their favorite small business, and overall thoughts on the event and how to make it better.
