2 Places They Lived o The Cherokee lived in what is now Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia. o They also lived in the mountain region.

3 Way of Life Food o The Cherokee ate corn, beans, and squash ( The Three Sisters. ) o They hunted deer, rabbits, bear, and other animals for their meat. o They also caught and ate fish. They used it for fertilizer.

4 Ways of Life continued……. Shelter o The Cherokee lived in summer houses and winter houses. o The Cherokee also had council houses that were seven sided.

5 Transportation o The Cherokees walked on foot. o The Cherokees took boats and canoes made from trees

6 Ways Before Settlers o The Cherokee didn’t scalp until the settlers came. o They had no metal tools.

7 Life After Settlers o After settlers the Cherokee had metal tools. o They used glass pieces for decoration.

8 Interesting Facts o The Cherokee used dry veggies like pumpkins or squash. o The Cherokee called themselves Aniyunwiga.That means “Principal People”. o It was not allowed to marry someone from your clan. o Before the Cherokee boy used a bow, he had to prove his skill with a blow gun.
