4. Cherokee Nation  Was comprised of many villages that were loosely united with each other.

5. Transportation  Traveled from village to village in large dug out canoes.

7. Housesin summer  The Cherokee lived in long houses during the summer and

8. Houses in Winter  wattle and daub houses in the winter

9.  The Cherokee were powerful and thought of themselves as “the real people”

10.  Villages were run by councils where different leaders made decisions affecting the people.  Leaders were elected and the Cherokee had a form of constitution.

11. Women  Sat on the village council and had significant voice in weather or not the tribe went to war.

12.  The Cherokees were traders and had a well traveled trail that ran from the mountains to the Atlantic Ocean Trail of Tears
