Key Functions Promotes Economic growth, Job making, Increased living standards, and endurable development Works with Universities, Businesses, Workers, and Communities to increase improvement The Department of Commerce is responsible for economic development, areas of trade, technology business development, etc. Also monitors resources for environmental health and economic strength

How the Department Functions Keeps records of budgets, financial statements, archives documents, etc. Relatively well organized, with multiple relations for advisement

A few facts ….. In 2009 Commerce Connect program was launched, allowing businesses to access the department with less difficulty. The Patent and Trademark process is faster and more efficient because of the department In 2011 the National Weather Service predicted a violent tornado and gave the storm warning far in advance. Since 2011, the department has had 17 locations. Also in 2011 the International Trade Administration removed over 50 trade barriers and assisted over 20 thousand companies with export transactions. In 2011 the National Institute of Standards and Technology led government efforts on developing standards for data portability, cloud interoperability, and security. Created in 1903 in order to create jobs and promote economic growth

Opine The Department of Commerce is a useless bureaucracy in my opinion. They spend America’s money senselessly and hardly do anything.

Improvements… The Department of Commerce would be better off being abolished. However, if there were changes to be made, faster systems should be implemented to increase efficiency. Also, they should do what they say they’re going to do.

Howard Baldridge Howard Baldridge was the 26 th Secretary of Commerce. Regarded as one of the world’s most preeminent leaders, he created a way for the increase of access to American firms to the Soviet Market. Also dealing with foreign affairs, he resolved technological difficulties with trades in China and India. One of his jobs was to end unfair trading tactics, which he excelled at.
