Teachers have two steps when they first receive technology: 1. LEARN it yourself! 2. Decide whether or not it supports the class objectives and curriculum. Teachers must have a solid understanding before trying to teach it to students. If it doesn’t fit into your classroom, don’t try to force it!

Challenges : Restructuring Lessons Large information bases may lead to questions that can’t be answered. Avoiding Challenges: Discouraging the use of technology in already well organized lessons Keeping new Technology put away until it can be reconfigured into lessons.

Benefits: Personalized learning experiences means better understanding Interaction allows gore practice and review in memorization based learning Allows for more overall time spent on learning Allows teachers to keep track of progress and allows more time to communicate progress

Maximizing Your Child’s Tech Time
Look for Connections “Technology used in isolation is less effective than when it’s integrated into a curricular set of activities,” -Pasnik. Don’t Assume Don’t base your view of technology off of someone else’s opinion. It’s All in the Application “The success of any tool depends on how it’s used”
