Web Enabling Strategy Web-based functionality will be added incrementally to the client/server environment Target areas where it makes the most sense –Distributed users –User’s needing limited access to a few functions –Provide easy-to-use capabilities for more complex operations –Interactive analysis CES Parametric Estimation will be the first function addressed
8
XML Initiatives eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Currently Used in SitePad, Estimator, PES, and CES Using for the SiteManager/FieldManager Interface and other Trnsport interfaces in the future Worked with MnDOT & Bentley on aecXML standard resulting in Quantity Manager Interface between InRoads (design) and Trnsport TRB TransXML project in RFP phase –Goal is to provide data interchange standards for sharing transportation data between systems and users
9
Test Suite Initiative Will provide an automated, uniform, integrated test suite for all of Trnsport Creation of a robust test-case repository along with standard test data across all modules of Trnsport Resulting in reduced effort for regression testing and increased quality of software Support for onsite validation at agency
