New CompuCell is installed on Macs New installation package will be posted on the p548 website. In the future it is quite likely that as CompuCell gets new upgrades, you will need to recompile the whole package. Linux is recommended for running CommpuCell Linux+KDevelop are recommended for developing new CompuCell modules.

Create subdirectory where you will store today’s simulations mkdir Foams cd Foams cp /usr/local/CompuCell/*. mkdir Exercise1 cd Exercise1 cp../Foam_try.xml. cp../foaminit2D.pif. cp../FoamInit.pl. - this is Perl script that prepares PIF file Similarly for other exercises

Use MS Excel to complete quantitative exercises Open foam output files in Excel - it will walk you through few of the import dialogs - they are fairly well explained. Once output file has been loaded into spreadsheet - use Data- >Sort… dialogs to sort data with respect to a given column. Do not forget to highlight all the columns (i.e. A,B,C,D) You may use Excel for preparing graphs, although if you prefer to use Matlab or Mathematica that’s perfect
