4 Fire Fighting Activities 1. Auditing and evaluating alarm and detection systems 2. Auditing and evaluating fire fighting systems (pumps, cooling and fire fighting equipment) 3. Design and tender's documents preparation, evaluation of bids and bids settlement’s for fire fighting systems. 4. Design of smoke evacuation systems.
5
5 1. Carrying of Site survey audits for all the system components (control panels, alarm and detection equipment, different types of pumps, cooling and fire fighting equipment) 2. Preparing system performance reports. 3. Issuing recommendation for fixing and improvement to insure safe operation during the fire fighting processes. Auditing and evaluation for the Detection, Alarm and Fire Fighting systems procedures
6
6 Design and supervision Design works and preparation of the technical scope, documents for tenders, the evaluation of bids and bids settlement's and supervision for the fire fighting systems and smoke evacuation works include: 1. Site visits, meetings with responsible persons and gathering information needed for the design. 2. Preparing Designs and drawings. 3. Preparing the technical specifications and tender documents.
7
7 4. Evaluation of bids and bids settlement's. 5. Work supervision until commissioning and startup. 6. Complete system test for work quality insurance. 7. Delivering the system for the client with a PETROSAFE stamped certificate to ensure that the is working under the NFPA standards. 8. Training workers to use the fire fighting system.
8
8 Smoke is the strongest effect of the fire that it causes 80% of deaths in fire accidents evacuation systems are established by using of evacuation fans which are connected to the main control panels so it can work in parallel with the other fire fighting related systems> The fans work will be related just to the flours with smoke Design of smoke evacuation system.

9 Fire Hazard Classification 1. Hazards which causes people injuries or death. 2. Hazards which causes property loss, the danger here will depend on how much the place contain flammable materials. 3. Hazards threatened buildings or sites due to external fire.
10
10 Detection, Alarm and Fire fighting systems evaluation importance Saving souls is the main objective if the fire starts inside any building or site so people inside should be alarmed just when fire happen that they can escape before they will be surrounded by fire. The time aspect is very important to minimize souls’ and properties' losses.
11
11 Fire fighting Detection and alarm systems are must be suitable for the building or site size and number of people there. Buildings or sites are classified into three categories: 1. High risk buildings and sites. 2. Medium risk buildings and sites. 3. Low risk buildings and sites. Fire fighting detection and alarm systems are either manual or manual/automatic.
12
12 Detection, Alarm and Fire fighting systems evaluation importance. -The Systems should be suitable for the building or the site. -The system should be effective and efficient to be able to control any fire.
13
13 Items to be considered: 1. Availability of Water to be used for cooling areas exposed to the fire heat and to be sprayed for fire fighting. 2. Availability of the suitable fire fighting materials, (foam for the petroleum tanks, carbon di-oxide and noble gases for fixed or mobile equipment).
14
14 Codes and standards -Audit and evaluation are carried out against international codes and standards(mainly NFPA). -All safety and health aspects are considered according to the nature of the place to be protected.
