What are the three things an active abide youth member does? 1.Journal everyday and pray for three people by name (power) 2.Are activated (Band, Choir, Tech or X-factor) (process) 3.Disciple someone in the teachings of Jesus (Pastoral)

1.) Improve the Process 2.) Genuine Pastoral Care 3.) Go back to the Power

Acts 6 But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.

2 So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. 3 And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. 4 Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.”

Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch… 6 These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them. 7 So God’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too.

1.) Improve the Process Acts 6:3) And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.

Power Acts 2:41 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. Acts 4:4 But many of the people who heard their message believed it, so the number of believers now totalled about 5,000 men, not counting women and children.

It is good and healthy to be active physically and spiritually. God’s message was being stopped by a process problem. They needed to learn the value of Ministry equipping: Ephesians 4:11-12 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

2.) Genuine Pastoral Care The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew- speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.

God’s message was being blocked by a pastoral care issue. They needed the 4 M values: Miracles Multicultural Missions Ministry equipping

3.) Go back to the Power Acts 6:6) These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them.

Acts 6:8-10 Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people. 9 But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves… started to debate with him… 10 None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.

To release the presence and power of God Acts of Faith Proximity to the anointing Prophetic acts Laying on of hands Declaration

Acts 4:29-31 …O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. 30 Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

Ephesians 5:18-20 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
