3 PURPOSE OF SKELETAL SYSTEM HOLDS YOU UPRIGHT GIVES YOU SHAPE PROTECTS YOUR ORGANS HELPS WITH BODY MOVEMENT

4 GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE SKELETON THERE ARE 350 BONES UNDER THE AGE OF 20-25 AN ADULT HAS 206 BONES THE SKELETON WEIGHS ONLY 20 POUNDS BONES ARE OF DIFFERENT LENGTH AND SIZE THE SMALLEST BONES ARE IN YOUR EAR THE FEMUR IN THE UPPER LEG IS THE LONGEST BONE

5 JOINTSJOINTS JOINTS ARE WHEN BONES FIT TOGETHER IN ORDER TO PERFORM MOVEMENTS. IMMOVABLE(SKULL) BALL AND SOCKET (HIP, SHOULDER) HINGE (ELBOW, ANKLE, KNEE) GLIDE (VERTEBRAE) CAN YOU LOOK UP AND SEE WHERE THESE JOINTS ARE LOCATED IN THE BODY? CAN YOU FIND JOINTS IN THE WORLD THAT ARE NOT LOCATED IN THE BODY?

6 MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOINTS INSIDE THE JOINTS THERE IS A FLUID. THE FLUID INSIDE THE JOINTS ALLOWS THE JOINTS SMOOTH MOVEMENT AND WITH NO PAIN. –IN THE WORLD THINK ABOUT THE THINGS THAT HAVE TO BE OILED OR GREASED TO MOVE SMOOTH. CAN YOU NAME SOME OF THEM?
