Draw and Interpret Scatter Graphs
I will: construct a scatter graph to compare birth rate and average incomes in North America, Central America and the Caribbean describe the correlation between two sets of numbers determine which is the cause and which is the effect then support my reasoning
2
Describe Your Findings
The difference between the life expectancy in Canada and Haiti is 23. Is that what the writer really meant? Because in third world countries there is a lot of poverty and mostly everyone lives on the streets so they can not afford food, water and medicine. The top three Caribbean countries are places that you want to go on vacations. I think more tourist stops have better health care. Majority of countries don’t drop too much and the first world countries have a bigger life expectancy then other countries.

What do you think is the correlation between:
Correlation: the connection, or relationship, between two things. Finding a correlation can help geographers find a cause and effect. What do you think is the correlation between: Birth rate ( per1000) (population) and Annual Income ($US in thousands) (quality of life) Birth rate: the number of people per per year
4
Gather and organize data
Scatter Graph Gather and organize data Scatter Graph: a graph that shows the relationship between two related sets of data Describe your findings. There are 3 possible results...
5
Finding the correlation between population and quality of life.
Follow the steps on G to construct your graph. Think of the results of your “Life Expectancy” bar graph. You are plotting the same countries.
6
Make informed critical judgements
Interpret and Analyse information evidence data Describe the correlation that you see between the two sets of numbers. Which one is the cause and which one is the effect? Suggest reasons to explain the correlation. What do you still wonder? Make informed critical judgements Formulate questions
