Content Area: Science Grade Level: 2 nd Summary: The purpose of this instructional PowerPoint is to allow students to review the information about herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. It also allows the student to get immediate feedback. Learning Objective: Given the review and questions, students will correctly distinguish between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores with 100% accuracy. Content Standard: GLE 0207.3.1 Recognize that animals eat plants or other animals for food. Accomplishment: Students will answer the questions with in the power point and understand the differences between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores.

Review Carnivore means “meat eater.” Carnivores gain energy by primarily eating the meat of other animals. Carnivores often eat herbivores. Herbivore means “plant eater.” Herbivores gain energy by eating plants. Omnivore means “all-eater.” Omnivores eat both animals and plants. They usually eat fruits or vegetables from plants.
