REVEALING

All of us are aquainted with COCA-COLA as the largest beverage company with the most extensive distribution system in the world. It is considered as the world's most valuable brand and a global icon. This carbonated soft drink, sold in more than 200 countries, is produced by the Coca-Cola Company. This company actually produces the concentrate for the drink. Which is then sold to various licensed Coca- Cola bottlers throughout the world. The bottlers, who hold territorially exclusive contracts with the company, produce finished product in cans and bottles from the concentrate in combination with filtered water and sweeteners.

Till the 1920's, Coca cola had been a successful brand. But then people soon started realising that the drink was not what it exactly claimed to be....

FIRSTLY LET US CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES OF COCA-COLA ON OUR HEALTH.FIRSTLY LET US CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES OF COCA-COLA ON OUR HEALTH. Warning! the following will arise only when the drink's consumption is abused. "Soft drinks have long been suspected of leading to lower calcium levels and higher phosphate levels in the blood. When phosphate levels are high and calcium levels are low, calcium is pulled out of the bones. The phosphate content of soft drinks like Coca -Cola and Pepsi is very high, and they contain virtually no calcium." And watch out for cola soft drinks, which are very high in bone-dissolving phosphorus. This leads to lower calcium levels and higher phosphate levels in the blood. The United States ranks first among countries for soft drink consumption with a per capital consumption of approximately 15 ounces a day. » It explains the greater risk of broken bones in children who consume soft drinks."

It appears that increased soft drink consumption is a major factor that contributes to osteoporosis. A deficiency of vitamin K leads to impaired mineralization of bone. Boron deficiency may contribute greatly to osteoporosis as well as to menopausal symptoms." Adolescents who consume soft drinks display a risk of bone fractures three to four-fold higher than those who do not." "Sugar and acid in soft drinks so easily dissolve tooth enamel." "Adolescents who consume soft drinks display a risk of bone fractures three to four-fold higher than those who do not."

OBESITY PARTLY DUE TO COCA-COLA CONSUMPTION: The relationship between soft drink consumption and body weight is so strong that researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times." "Consumption of sugar [high fructose corn syrup]- sweetened drinks," they concluded, "is associated with obesity hip between soft drink consumption and body weight is so strong that researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times." 8 Coca-cola in Kerala – India The largest Coca-Cola plant in India has been accused of putting thousands of farmers out of work by draining the water that feeds their wells, and poisoning the land with waste sludge that the company claims is fertiliser. Coca-cola’s huge demand for water was causing such damage to the local economy that the village council which had granted the company a licence to operate had demanded the plant's closure. Coca-cola denied everything and refused to leave. Attempts by the local council to shut the plant failed. An order by the Perumatty village council cancelling the company's licence to operate, on the grounds that the bottling plant was over-exploiting the water resources, was overruled by the Kerala high court soon afterwards.

Coca-cola responsible for the death of colombians workers Some 6,700 Coca-Cola workers have lost their jobs between 1992 and 2002, and 80 percent of the Coca-Cola work force is now composed of non-union, temporary workers, and wages for these individuals are only a quarter of those earned by their unionized counterparts. On July 21, 2001, the International Labor Rights suited on behalf of Sinaltrainal in U.S. Federal Court in Miami. The plaintiff seeks to hold the company and its bottlers liable for allowing paramilitaries to commit a series of crimes against Coca-Cola workers. Most prominent among these crimes is the 1996 murder of union leader Isidro Gil and the burning of the union’s offices in Carepa in the Antioquia department. Coca-Cola’s denials would be more credible if the company acted vigorously to protect the lives of its employees. Allegations that the company is complicit in the terror waged against its employees are nurtured by its legal retaliation against union leaders.

Facts about Coca-cola as a world known company Coca Cola had to pay $190 million for racial discrimination of its black workers in the USA in 2000 You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days. (Unproven, but fun to consider.) Coca Cola renders 50 times more people, who make locally produced drinks, jobless than it employs. Dropping water levels and increasing toxicity in the water have affected agrarian livelihoods. It is a drain on the local and rural economies.

In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. (Unproven, however, it is reasonable to assume that it's true since phosphoric acid can dissolve rust and grease and was used by the steel industry to clean products.) To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca- Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days (Unproven). Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
