2 What is an Apprenticeship?  Work-based learning programmes that enable individuals to earn a wage whilst gaining on the job experience and skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications.  New and existing staff who want to gain further qualifications and develop skills.  Framework Levels Apprenticeship – Level 2 (equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A*-C) Advanced Apprenticeship – Level 3 (equivalent to two or more A Levels) Higher Apprenticeship – Level 4/5 (equivalent to BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND)) Better Care Better Health Better Life
