Questions Where is the genre used? Free verse poetry can be used in any context and situation. It can be found in many formats, some of which we will discuss further. What is the interaction it accomplishes? Communication of ideas and thoughts Self-expression Who uses the genre and to do what? “Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Questions What subjects does the genre discuss? Free verse can encompass any subject. What relationships does the genre suggest? Free verse poetry encourages creativity and thinking outside of the box. Readers and writers need to keep open minds when dealing with free verse poetry. What roles does the genre suggest for participants? Who decides if a poem is free verse or not? The reader or the author?
