Nebulizer pumps at 8-10 lpm of air Make sure proper amount of medication and diluted properly; mist should appear when proper attached and patient must use until mist is dissipated. Suction catheter: used to remove liquids or body fluids from the mouth and nose Attach to suction canister and properly measure the length allowed Suction only on the way out for 10-15 seconds at a time by covering the hole and utilize a circle technique to maximize effectiveness Rinse with sterile water or sterile saline
