What if? We recognized that our world of teaching is like a maze that we have to work through, and we tackled each unit like a puzzle we have to win?

What if? We consistently gave students the opportunity to learn through different pathways… like game designers do with levels ?

What if? We committed to: Using a literacy strategy in every lesson? Engaging kids in the use of 21 st Century Learning each day? Involve students in active deep level questioning in our conversations with them learning how to question effectively? Use a primary source to enhance and invigorate learning and provide connections to their world?

What if? We played the game effectively for the benefit of our students? Dive into the state standards? Embrace the new common core ? Commit to the use of inquiry? As a profession advocated for the use of effective professional development that encourages the type of collegial planning which makes us exemplary practitioners?

What if? We made our students into Angry Bird Experts?

I do not just view inquiry from my role as an educator and learner. For me it is really a quest for life, to understand life and to create what I call living knowledge— knowledge which is valid for the people with whom I work, instruct, and collaborate.
