Flash is a multimedia graphics program specially for use on the Web. Flash enables you to create interactive "movies" on the Web. Flash uses vector graphics. -which means that the graphics can be scaled to any size without losing clarity/quality. Flash does not require programming skills and is easy to learn Flash vs. Animated Images and Java Applets. Animated images and Java applets are often used to create dynamic effects on Web pages. 3LDP.......................

Flash loads much faster than animated images Flash allows interactivity, animated images do not Flash does not require programming skills, java applets do 4LDP.......................

In September 2000, NPD Research, the parent company of MediaMetrix, conducted a study to determine what percentage of Web browsers have Flash preinstalled. The results show that 96.4% of Web users can experience Flash content without having to download and install a player. 5LDP.......................

When you draw in Flash, you create vector art, which is a mathematical representation of lines, curves, color, and position. 6LDP.......................

Vector art is resolution-independent; can rescale the art to any size or display you can rescale the art to any size or display it at any resolution without losing clarity. downloads faster Additionally, vector art downloads faster than comparable bitmap images. 7LDP.......................

FLASH ANIMATION BY ldp Animation is the art of creating moving images. Adobe/Macromedia Flash has the ability to illustrate frames and build them into a timeline an create a sequence of images giving the illusion of motion.

FLASH ANIMATION BY ldp What is the stage? The "stage" area is similar to the concept of the "canvas" as seen in fireworks, Photoshop and other image editing applications. Only objects that are placed on, or move onto the stage can be seen in an animation (unless specifically told otherwise using action script or are made invisible by changing an object's alpha setting).

FLASH ANIMATION BY ldp What is a timeline ? The timeline is the area in flash where you configure frames and key frames. The timeline displays frames in chronological/sequential order allowing the user to view the order of events in sequence. Layers are shown staked on top of each other with the top most layer in the timeline representing the highest level on which the frames are displayed.
11
FLASH ANIMATION BY ldp Frame rate is the number of frames that the movie shows for each second of run time. If the frame rate is 24 frames per second the movie shows 24 frames of the timeline every second. Why is the frame rate set to 12 frames frames per second? Most movement can animated at 12 frames per second. only fast moments need to tween at the full frame rate of 24 frames per second
