What is Double? Double is 2 of he same thing! 2a=a+a

3 Adding Doubles Adding a number to itself. Example: 5+5= 10

5 Multiplying Doubles (x2)
When multiplying by 2, you are making 2 groups of the thing you are multiplying. Example: 4x2=8

6 Practice and Examples 2x5= (2 groups of 5) Now count them!

7 What do you do when you add double?
Add the number to itself (9+9) Add the number to the next higher number (8+9) Add 2 to the number (2+9) Next Question

9 Try Again. 8+9=17 When you add doubles, you add the same number twice. 8+8 or 9+9 would both be doubles facts
