2. Wildlife and Plants Some animals of Guatemala include: the Maya mouse, Guatemalan brown bat, deer mouse, and the quetzal. Some plants include many orchids, palm, avocado and cacti. Some trees would be chicle, moringa, and rose apple trees.

3. Crops and Climate Some crops include : coffee, (their main crop) wheat, rice, corn, sugarcane, cotton, and bananas. The main climate is tropical. The tropical climate makes it warm and sunny so people want to live there.

14. Important People and History An Important person to Guatemala would be Pedro de Alvarado who conquered the Maya in the year of 1524. In the year 18,000 B.C, the first human settlers arrived in Guatemala. Guatemala gained it’s freedom as part of the Mexican empire in the year 1821.
