3 The Desert Southwest People are Hopi, Zuni, and the Navajo. The Desert Southwest People lived in the Desert which was very hot. So the weather effected what clothes they wear.

4  The Hopi wore very light clothes because how hot it was.  The Hopi Are experts at making baskets and pottery.  Their main crop was corn.  They sometimes traveled long distances to trade.  Jobs were divided among men and women.  Men governed the villages, hunted, and tended crops.  Women owned the property and cared for the family.  Women spent hours each day grinding corn, using smooth, flat stone.  This division of labor helped the Hopi.

5  The Zuni wore very light clothes because the weather was hot.  Instead of using wood for their homes the used mud because they had little wood.  The Zuni lived in what is now New Mexico.  Their main crop was corn.

6  The Navajo wore really light clothes because they lived as Nomads and the weather was very hot.  The Navajo believed in gods known as the holy people.  The Navajo lived in shelters called Hogans.  The Navajo dug big holes and planted their crops so when rainfall happened it will still get to the crops even though there is little rainfall in the desert.

7  The Pacific Northwest are Kwakiutl, Makah, And The Chinook.  The Pacific Northwest lived next to the woods and the sea.  They made lots of things out of wood because they had many trees that grew in the heat and the rain.

8  The Kwakiutl whore clothes that had a medium thickness.  They used weapons called harpoons made of wood to hunt the whales.  They also lived in things called long houses which are rectangular houses.

9  The Makah used the whale blubber(which they hunted with harpoons) to make oil.  They used the skin for clothes.  They also used their trees to there advantage to barter(which means trade) with the other Indians.  The network they had was good because of all the wood.

10  The Chinook lived in a place with lots of rain.  they used their resources wisely to have a great economy.  These people were known to travel long distances to trade.  Last is they made their homes with the wood.

11  The Plains People lived in a very green area.  They moved a lot to hunt their pray because they had to follow the buffalo.  Their main food source was Buffalo.  They used buffalo in their ways of life.  They could not stay in the same spot because they could not farm because the soil was to hard.

12  These people whore light clothes because they were out in the open.  These people lived in tepees which were easy to move.  Some lived in lodges and used sod to cover their houses.

13  These people whore light clothes because they were out in the open.  These people called themselves nokota.  These people hunted deer, elk, and buffalo.  Their lodges could fit up to 60 people.

14  The Cheyenne wore light clothes because they were travelers.  These people lived in tepees as well.  There main food source was buffalo.  They also had trees
