Union/USA Vs. Confederate/CSA UnionConfederate 2,128,948 people fought for Union. 360,222 people died on Union side. Union won with victory! 1,082,119 people fought for Confederate. 260,000 people died on Confederate. Confederate lost in defeat.

They used hourglass for timing cannon fires. The North Carolina Cherokee Confederate fought the last skirmish in the state at White Sulphur springs on May 6 surrender on May 9,1865.
