Really general – levels and how IT and PIC run the length
First lets look at this diagram from the bottom up, then we’ll talk about the layers in more detail from the top down.
Operational data stewards – example are registrars, business officers, or PPMS users group
Data Domain Stewards – this is basically a new layer, but many times this function already exists. Examples are the RPC data stewards, the commission workgroups such as the BAC workgroup who are currently working to standardize the FMS account coding (the chart of accounts) It’s a small group who are familiar with their functional area’s data.
Data governance committee – a new committee within RPC with the decision making authority over data.
At the top of course we have WACTC and the State Board.
Throughout all of these layers we have IT staff involvement. We mustn’t forget our IT friends! This includes college IT staff all the way up through the Deputy Executive Director at SBCTC.
