2. The Ocean Our environment is the ocean. The ocean covers 3/4 of the Earth. The water in the ocean is mostly saltwater which is 97.2 % of the Earths water and the rest is 0.01% in rivers, lakes, and steams carry 0.6%, the surface and the underground has 2.2%, and in icecaps and glaciers there is 2.8% which is all the fresh water.The ocean has three different parts, which are the sunlight zone at the very top, the twilight zone in the middle, and the midnight zone which is at the bottom of the ocean were it is cold and pitch black. There are 4 different oceans, which are the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, and the Indian Ocean. The oceans also have low tide and high tide because of the moon. The ocean also is home to many plants and animals. It is home to the biggest animal of the Earth, the whale and I’m not sure, but I think it is the home to the smallest animal of the Earth. That’s what I have to say.

3. Ocean Animals There are two main categories of animals. These would be invertebrates and vertebrates and after that there are branches that lead off of that. For example, in vertebrates there can be a branch that can say mammals or fish. Anyways some animals that live in the ocean are whales the biggest animals in the world, different types of fish, sharks, and many more animals. They all have different habitats and they live different parts of the ocean. They also eat many different things like whales eat fish, and sea turtles may eat shrimp and little plants. The invertebrates in the ocean are jellyfish, sea stars, lobsters, crabs, and hermit crabs

4. Ocean Plants There are many varieties of plants. Some of the plants are seaweed, and red, green, and brown algae. Algae are mostly always the bases of food chains. Ocean plants provide food for ocean animals and land animals that go in the water. They also serve as protection for small animal life. Each plants also lives in different places of the ocean.

5. Ocean Climate The average temperature of the oceans is 39 degrees F, but it depends on the location of the ocean. What I mean is that the temperature in the Arctic Ocean is different than the temperature of the Pacific Ocean because it is closer to the equator. The temperature in the Arctic Ocean is colder than the Pacific Ocean.

6. Ocean Location The oceans are located all over the world because they cover 3/4 or the Earth. That is where they are located. They are found all over the world.
