3 Pakistan Water Front Objectives:- To Tackle an Issue of Vital National Importance To Create Nationwide and International Public Opinion To:- Stop India From Water Theft and Exploitation of Our Rivers Force India to Adhere to the Indus Water Treaty Lend Support to Government Efforts to Tackle the Issue with India Depoliticize The Dam and Reservoir Issue in Pakistan. 4 Current Water Situation in Pakistan L C C I Researc h Water Availability Decreased from 5,000 Cubic Meters per capita in 1950s to 1000 Cubic Meter in 2010 (WAPDA). Water Availability per capita Ranks Last Amongst Asian Countries (FAO). Pakistan is Becoming a Severely Water Stress Country.

5 India’s Water Weapon Under IWT-1960: – India cannot Stop or Interfere with water of our Western Rivers (Chenab, Jehlum, Indus) But – In Case of Baghiliar Dam on River Chenab, India did not Meet IWT Provisions of Sharing Information & Withheld our 0.2 MAF Water. 6 – India is Building a Huge Storage Capability (National River Linking Project) with a Cost US$120 Billion to be Completed in 2016 with Following Features:- Diversion of 178 cubic km Water-from North to South Including 3,000 Storage Reservoirs 14,000 km of Canals (Source: IWMI) Resulting in Conflicts with Neighbouring Countries Including China, Bangladesh & Nepal.
