Steps To Printing By Simon Chute
2
Step 1: Get Supplies You will need: Styrofoam sheet, Dull pencil, Tracing Paper, Different coloured ink (not paint), Newspaper, Apron, Roller, Spatula, Glass sheet, A3 Paper, Scissors,
3
Step 2: Drawing monster On your blank piece of paper, draw a monster, or anything you want, that sort of represents you.
4
Step 3: Drawing thing again Draw your thing on the tracing paper.
5
Step 4: Tracing on Styrofoam Take your thing on the tracing paper and place in onto the Styrofoam. Trace with your dull pencil onto the Styrofoam, the part of your thing that you want to be white.
6
Step 5: first layer Cover a table in newspaper. Put down your sheet of glass. Using the spatula put the ink on the glass. Roll it out on glass with your roller. Make sure that it is very thin and evenly spread out. Apply the ink to your Styrofoam sheet. Rub until you have a even layer on it. Put the Styrofoam sheet onto the A3 paper. Flip it over, and with the palm of your hand, rub it all around the sheet. Peel off the Styrofoam and you will have the first layer.
7
Step 6: Washing Take your Styrofoam sheet, the roller, the spatcula, and the glass sheet, and wash them in the sink. Dry them with some paper towel. Put them on a counter, or a drying rack and wait for the print to dry. (this may take a day)
8
Step 7: Second layer Get your Styrofoam sheet and the tracing paper. Trace onto the Styrofoam more detail. Make sure to add quite a bit more. Do the same as step 6. Only this time use a different colour and make sure to line up the paper when you put the styrofoam sheet onto the big A3 paper picture.
9
Step 8: Third layer Do the same as step 6 and 7.
10
Step 9: Fourth layer Do the same as step 6, and 8.
11
Step 10: Finishing When your final layer is dried then put away all of your stuff that you used to print. Take the scissors and cut out all of the white stuff until all you have is your final product. Hang it on the wall and admire it.
