2 During a fly over of the Grand Canyon the main places that can be found within the canyon are highlighted. A brief description is giving of each place and shown where it is located in the canyon.

3 What is a canyon? On this link you can find the answer to this question along with many more facts about the history and geology of the Grand Canyon. As well as giving a history of the canyon it tells of what the canyon is like today. It describes the weather, the wildlife, the erosion that has occurred, and many more details.

4 This page is devoted to the history of the Grand Canyon. It describes the people that lived within the canyon and how they adapted in the area. It tells the history of how the Grand Canyon was discovered by the first white men. It also describes when the canyon became a National Park.

5 This website is devoted to an overview of the Grand Canyon. What was mined out of the Grand Canyon? Who were the Puebloea People? What did Liteutant Joseph Ives have to say when he first discovered the canyon?

8 President Theodore Roosevelt declared it a national monument in 1908. Declared a National Park in 1919. In 1979 the canyon was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

9 Havasupai Indians still live within the Grand Canyon today. Havasu Falls is 100 foot tall and one of the most visited attractions in Arizona despite the effort to get to it. Supai receives over 500 visitors a day in the summer. Although it is a local attraction the Supai still carry out a traditional way of life.
