INTRODUCTION The world is moving away from the known physical/concrete. The internet becomes the new phenomenon Interesting because no one owns or controls it. No government regulation and No one censors the information made available on the internet

INTRODUCTION No matter where you are located, if your computer has an Internet connection, you can access any information related to any field.

WHAT IS THE INTERNET An inter-connection of computers all over the world. – Made up in individual computers – Local Area Networks – Wide Area Networks – Metropolitan Area Networks – ETC,

USES OF THE INTERNET Instant Messenger & MSM Messenger – chatting online and exchanging email messages (three most popular instant messaging programs are: AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger) Social Networking – Connecting to friends and relatives and sharing information including pictures, movies thoughts, etc. (facebook, linkedin, etc)

E-learning can be divided into four broad categories: – Knowledge- based e-learning – Online Support-based e-Learning – Synchronous-based e-Learning – Asynchronous–based e-Learning E-LEARNING CATEGORIES

A Good Pass Word should: – Be at least five characters long. – Contains a non-alphabetical symbol as a &, %, or, ! etc. – Contain a number. – Possess upper case a lowercase letters. NOTE: Case is significant in passwords. © Pearson Education 201211 BASIC CRITERIA FOR PASSWORD

Hyperlink – links to other web pages (often indicated by underline or shown in a different colour form the main text. Some graphics are also used as hyperlinks) Address bar – The area where the URL is entered

E-COMMERCE & E-BUSINESS Online Shopping It helps the user purchase and receives goods sitting at his home using an Internet-enabled computer

ADVANTAGES OF E-COMMERCE Online Shopping provides one-stop buying for all types of customer. No need to visit shops in search of desired products. No headache of traffic ham and vehicle parking. No burden of carrying cash and shopping bags. Weather is no longer a barrier for shopping.

DISADVANTAGES OF E-COMMERCE Security issues (fraudsters, payment, etc) Delivery issues (physical products, timing, defective products, etc) Availability of internet equipments
