PROBLEM STATEMENT There is a lot of people in Saudi Arabia are facing problems dealing with ordinary desks “old or small desk”. So it is required to design an extender. 2
3
INTRODUCTION The Portable Classroom Desk Extender is a horizontal, flat surface object that is use to give users more working space on a typical classroom desk, whether its to increase length on the right or left side. It is lightweight, easy to carry and use and a functional product that is made of thermoplastic or wood which comes in various colors and also with a carrying bag for transporting 3

NEED ANALYSIS Does not occupy large space. It should be lightweight. Its cost should be reasonable. High quality. Easy to carry “portable”. 4
5
NEED ANALYSIS It must have a small space to store notes and papers. Included with a one year warranty. The extender design should be simple and easy to use. It should be safe and reliable. 5

PROBLEM DEFINITION Design a portable desk extender because people are facing problems dealing with ordinary desks. It doesn't need to occupy large space, safe and reliable, easy to carry and must be made with high quality materials. The price should be less than 150 SR, weight doesn't exceed 2Kg (19.6N) and the maximum of dimensions must be less than (35cm*50cm). Also it may have a one year warranty and can be adapted to wide variety of chairs. 10

Conclusions We choose a design depending on the advantages for all people. The chosen design is easy to use, comfortable, safe, marketable, and cheap. This desk will serve a large portion of people who need writing and reading everywhere, some people spend three to four hours daily in Library, airport or university to reading and writing. 23
