Noise Indices Noise can be measured using many different indices In UK the following are commonly used: L A90 – background noise L Aeq – activity noise (except for road traffic) L A10 – road traffic L Amax – activity noise L A01 – activity noise Most other countries use L Aeq for all noise and UK is following this approach
