Federal, state, and local government and private industry Non-federal participants must have a federal sponsor Who Qualifies

TSP Objective: to ensure priority restoration of communications lines most critical to the security and safety of American citizens Protection during disasters: floods, forest fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and terrorist attacks Provides guaranteed priority restoration of telecom services when service providers’ resources are overextended

GETS Objective: to ensure emergency calls are completed when network is congested Network congestion common during disasters Substantially improves completion rates of emergency calls

How GETS Works User identifies key personnel User requests GETS cards from NCS User distributes cards to key emergency personnel Cards contain special dialing instructions and PINs

GETS authority is vested in the individual, not the phone number, through use of a calling card GETS priority is invoked “call-by-call”

(Including 710- NCS-GETS) The Rest is Automatic: Your call will queue for the next available traffic channel WPS
