2 Hieroglyphs-history Hieroglyphs were used by the Ancient Egyptians for almost 3,600 years and it started In 3200 BC and finished In 400 AD, but hieroglyphs took a lot of time and effort to make and were very hard to learn. Only royalty, scribes, priests, and government officials could use hieroglyphics.

3 Egyptian language Egyptian language has the longest history of all the languages of the world.This scripting was in pictorial form. They used various signs instead of letters and words and this is the most fascinating feature of their language.

4 About language One more interesting fact about the symbols, is that a single symbol had more than three different meanings, which could either be phonetic or simply symbolizing the picture itself. They continued using it until around 500 AD and the language is still the most difficult language to learn.

5 It was used for… HIEROGLYPHS are pictures that were used to write the ancient Egyptian language. AT the beginning hieroglyphic signs were used to keep records of the king's posessions. But as the language became more complex more pictures were needed. Eventually the language consisted of more then 750 individual signs.

7 DISADVANTAGES- Our opinion We think that hieroglyphs wERE bad because they were very difficult to learn and complicated to write. One sign could have a lot of meanings so comunication was difficult.
