College Awards Prof. Agnes Mwango’mbe pausing for a group photo with the 2013/14 Faculty of Veterinary Medicine awardees College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) has awarded more than fifty 2013/14 academic year top performing students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Led by the Principal, Prof. Agnes Mwang’ombe, this prestigious event was meant to encourage the College to maintain its long held tradition of inspiring best performing students who feature in the Dean’s list of outstanding performers.

College Awards cont… In her remarks, Prof. Mwangombe expressed sincere appreciation and commended the students for their high performance that was awarded through certification. She acknowledged the fact that featuring in the Dean’s list was a very honorable process globally and challenged the top performers to retain their positions.

College Awards cont… Noticing that agriculture is a key driving force in the world, she took that opportunity to embolden the awardees to strive and become high achievers who would, sequentially, become noticed globally in their service delivery. The female students were asked to entrench the culture of academic excellence at all levels and draw motivational lessons for success in life through similar events and mentorship programs.

College Awards cont… ‘Motivational lessons for success can be drawn through professional mentorship programs. They foster production of top of the range performing students,’ she recapped. The Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM), Prof. Charles Mulei, congratulated the awardees and wished them triumph in their endeavors.Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) Prof Ombui of Department of Public Health, Pharmacology & Toxicology was present to oversee the awards.

College Awards Final Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Gathumbi, the Head of Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology. He likened the esteemed academic event to a biological phenomenon for it promotes upright competition to enhance good performance.Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology
