2. Rules for Selecting Data  Choose data that tells your story. –What’s been your focus in the past year?  Make sure everyone understands your data. –Choose straightforward data. –Present your data clearly.  Choose data that illustrates a clear link between your work and your results.

3. What Are Process Data? They  Describe the way programs are conducted.  Provide evidence of participant involvement in programs.  Answer the question, “What did you do for whom?”  May not show the degree of impact upon students found in results data.  Are acceptable for school climate and safety section.

4. Common Process Data Sources  Student Participation in School Activities (Sports, Clubs, Arts, ASB, etc…)  Student Participation in Special Programs (Peer Mediation, At Risk Counseling, Skills Conferences, etc…)  Parent/Student Participation in Events (College Information Meetings, Parent Workshops, etc…)

7. What Are Perception Data? They  Describe people’s knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, competencies, etc…  Answer the Question, “What do people think they know, believe, or can do?”  Acceptable for the School Climate and Safety Section

8. Common Perception Data Sources  Student Perceptions about School Climate issues (Healthy Kids Survey, violence, prejudice, bullying, etc…)  Student/Parent Perceptions about the effectiveness of programs or interventions  Student understanding of relationship of school to career or has an academic plan.  Student recognizes signs of violence or prejudice.
