How Do I Calculate My GPA in DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks The DegreeWorks GPA Calculator Tool can help students in several ways: understanding the effects of grades in specific courses on the GPA, setting realistic academic goals for current and future terms, mapping the path for achieving academic honors, and calculating a projected end-of-term GPA.

DegreeWorks The GPA Calculator Tool is designed for estimation purposes only and does not give a final or official GPA. IMPORTANT The Calculators do not account for the GSW Policy on Repeating Courses. Instead, all courses taken at GSW are included in the estimations.

DegreeWorks Grades in transferred courses, transient courses, and Learning Support courses are not taken into consideration for the overall GPA. IMPORTANT The cumulative GPA calculated using this tool may differ from the HOPE eligibility GPA.

DegreeWorks To access the GPA Calculators, click on the GPA Calc tab at the top of your audit worksheet.

DegreeWorks DegreeWorks has three different GPA calculators listed on the left side of the screen:  the Graduation calculator  the Term calculator  the Advice calculator Click on the one you want to use.

DegreeWorks The Graduation Calculator This calculator provides a general view of the average GPA a student needs to achieve in remaining courses in order to reach a desired GPA.

DegreeWorks Your GSW GPA will show in the Current GPA box.

DegreeWorks Enter the number of credit hours remaining to complete your degree.

DegreeWorks Enter the number of credit hours required for your degree program, not counting the PE requirement and UNIV 1000.

DegreeWorks The number of credits remaining and the number of credits required can be found in the degree information on the audit worksheet.

DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks Enter the GPA you want to achieve by graduation as the Desired GPA. In this example, 3.00 is being used.

DegreeWorks Next, click on the Calculate button.

DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE CALCULATIONS DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR REPEATED COURSES.

DegreeWorks The Term Calculator This calculator provides a projected GPA based on anticipated grades earned in courses for the current term.

DegreeWorks Your current class schedule will show, along with your current GSW GPA and the number of credits you have earned.

DegreeWorks From each Grade drop-down box, select the grade you think you will earn in the course.

DegreeWorks Courses can be added or deleted. If a course is added, the credit hours for the course and the anticipated grade must be entered also.

DegreeWorks When finished, click on Calculate.

DegreeWorks With these 15 hours and projected grades of 4 B’s and 1 A, the anticipated GPA will be 2.91.

DegreeWorks KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE CALCULATIONS DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR REPEATED COURSES.

DegreeWorks The Advice Calculator This calculator is used to determine how a student can raise or lower the GPA using actual grades as advice.

DegreeWorks The current GPA and number of earned credits will be listed.

DegreeWorks Enter the desired GPA and click on Calculate.

DegreeWorks For this example, to achieve the desired GPA of 3.5, the student would need to earn grades of A (4.0) on the next 17 credits.

DegreeWorks KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE CALCULATIONS DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR REPEATED COURSES.
