3. 3 In planning or responding to an event… A composite situation map can be built up using… Base topographic maps from Dept Land Information Vegetation information from CALM and Agriculture Hotspots and fire fronts from the field operations Wind barbs and Wind direction change front from BOM These data sets can be combined to produce a fire prediction model… And smoke plume prediction model So that all agencies and personnel have a common view of situation To enable more effective planning and coordination of operations
