How to Prepare for Step 2 CK More Variable: **Kaplan/USMLE World QBANK Both are GREAT! I recommend World- SAME format as actual test. Step 2 Review Course – Pretty Good First Aid Step 2 – ok, not the best Step Up to Medicine – Great, but long. Secrets – Very popular – detailed Crush Step 2 – Very Popular – very general Main Focus of test: Internal Medicine – As pathology was to Step 1 OB/GYN & Pediatrics – We typically perform well here Surgery (subspecialties) – Use Qbank for review *Neurology/Biostats – Fill in your knowledge gaps. *Psychiatry – First Aid for Psychiatry
6
When to Take Step 2 CS Note MUSOM “sit by” date! (December 31 st ) Register early (5 months ahead) to get desired test date Administered by USMLE, not Prometrix (Different test center) Testing Center Locations http://www.usmle.org/examinations/step2/cs/CSECAddresses.html Take early into 4 th year Absolutely NO advantage waiting, your skills get rusty. To Prepare: Use First Aid for Step 2 CS Read all mini- cases FCH 800 – Outpatient Family Medicine / FCH 888 – Rural Family Med. Watch introductory video on NBME website http://www.usmle.org/Examinations/step2/step2cs.html
