5 Key Geography Terms Location: a place or position
Absolute Location: your exact location (using latitude and longitude or place/position) Example: Brian is at Shackelford Junior High Example: Boston is located at (43° N, 72° W) Relative Location: you non-exact location (where you are close to) Example: Justin is next door. Example: Justin is in North Arlington.

The earth is divided into lots of lines called latitude and longitude.

28 Lines Longitude lines run north and south.
Latitude lines run east and west. The lines measure distances in degrees. Latitude Longitude

29 Where is 0 degree? Equator The equator is 0 degree latitude.
It is an imaginary belt that runs halfway point between the North Pole and the South Pole. Equator

30 P R I M E D A N Where is 0 degree? The prime meridian is 0 degrees longitude. This imaginary line runs through the United Kingdom, France, Spain, western Africa, and Antarctica.
