11 Bike Check (Athlete Lounge) Refer to 5.2 Equipment in ITU Competition Rules Bike frame Wheels Handle bars with clip-ons Saddle position (-5cm≤ Men & -2cm≤ Women) In case any athlete requests a rule exception for the saddle position, please do so immediately after the briefing Approval for the addition / modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the Race referee by the end of the athletes’ briefing Mechanic services available – Barceló Hotel and tomorrow during the morning at the venue

12 Athlete Lounge Uniform & race gear check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers, race caps) – photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! Body marking check (both arms, both legs) Swim cap distribution Timing chip distribution Leave non-race bags in the lounge (use gear bag sticker) Check-In of spare wheels (please label & collect them from Wheel Stop after your race)

14 Check-in Transition Area Helmet check - Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds. Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike

15 The Course Swim 1 lap of 750m Bike 4 laps of 5.05 km = 20.2 km Run 2 laps of 2.5km

16 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: 10 minutes before start line-up ( Proceed to c overed area at the beach start ) Jog to the numbered carpet Select your position and please stay behind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result DSQ

17 Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the TD announces ”On your mark” Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.

18 False Start Procedures False start Example: Several horn blasts Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to his / her spot Valid start but with early starters: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. (During the time penalty athlete cannot touch any equipment!)

22 Transition Area Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag All used equipment into your box. (Not doing so, a time penalty of 10 seconds on the run) Practice the flow of Transition  T1 – Rear wheel in rack, facing inside of Transition Mount line at the end of Transition

28 Run course 2 laps of 2.5km (total distance of 5km) Aid station:  3 per lap (for location see map)  Sealed water  Discard bottles & litter in the Littering Zones (Look for the signs located 80m before and 80m after Aid Stations) Don’t cut short the corners There is Photo-finish Avoid congestion in finish area > Go directly to mixed zone / recovery area

30 Run Penalty Box Run penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, Bike and TA2 For example: mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, equipment outside your box, rack the bike outside your own space, etc. Transitions will be video recorded for infringements Location: Entering the finish venue Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board) Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run. If you do not stop to take the penalty - DSQ

31 Post-race Procedures “Mixed Zone” - immediately after finish 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd with host broadcaster first; Medal Ceremony at 12.00 after Elite Men´s race; Please follow the ambush marketing rules (if applicable) Dress “up”; Prize money will be wired directly to athletes.

32 Ambush Marketing Rules Ambush marketing is defined as: “Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand.” The consequence for this behavior is: > The athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, if any.

33 Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control Photo ID is required for any athlete going for Doping Control. Medical Only team medical officials with an athlete from their team is allowed in this area. Every NF can have 1 team medical upgrade pass, but only for team doctors! Team Doctors to register with the ITU Medical Delegate.

34 Coaches areas Accreditation Every coach has to collect accreditation to be able to enter the venue. Only Coaches who have been registered by their NF into the ITU online system are entitled for an accreditation. 1.Athlete’s area; 2.Team official’s area.

35 Weather forecast Sunday, 15 June 2015 Cloudy skies with 60% chance of rain. 24C to 28C – Humidity 66%. Strong winds (5km/h up to 15 km/h).

36 Important Updates We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for thunderstorm alerts. There is no cause for concern at this point. ITU Office relocated to the Holiday Inn Hotel Pasta Party relocated to the Castillo Hotel Beach Club
