2 What is a habitat? A habitat is a place where plants and animals live.
Grassy and warm Cold and snowy Hot and dry Wet and grassy

3 In a habitat, animals can find the food, homes, and water they need to live. Different plants also need different habitats to live in. Each habitat has its own kind of soil.

4 Discussion How do plants and animals use each other?

5 Food Chains A food chain is a model of how living things get the food they need. Most food chains start with the sun!

6 Predators and Prey Animals can eat plants or other animals. An animal that hunts another animal for food is called a predator. Animals that are hunted by predators are called prey. Predator
