“Lordship” Salvation The Gospel According to Jesus, ( preface, 1 st ed., pg. xvii ) John MacArthur “…the message of salvation includes a call to surrender to Jesus as Lord. Those who would come to him for salvation must be willing to acquiesce to his sovereign authority. Those who reject his right to rule cannot expect to lay claim to him as Savior.”

Those who reject his right to rule cannot expect to lay claim to him as Savior.” The Gospel According to Jesus, ( pg. 43 ) “The two clearest statements on the way of salvation in all of Scripture both emphasize Jesus’ lordship: ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved’ (Acts 16:31); and ‘If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved’ (Rom. 10:9) … No promise of salvation is ever extended to those who refuse to accede to Christ’s lordship. Thus there is no salvation except ‘lordship’ salvation.”

“Lordship” Salvation The Gospel According to Jesus, ( pg. 47 ) John MacArthur “The call to Calvary must be recognized for what it is: a call to discipleship under the lordship of Jesus Christ. To respond to that call is to become a believer. Anything less is simply unbelief.”
