4. THE THEME OF OUR SERVICE TODAY IS REMEMBERING. Today and tomorrow many of us will focus on remembering those who have gone before us both in in our personal families and remembering those who fought in our nation’s battles, many of whom made the supreme sacrifice to secure the freedoms we enjoy today. Today is also Pentecost Sunday on which we will remember how God’s Holy Spirit came into the world through Jesus’ disciples.

THE PENTECOST CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ] The Holy Spirit is God active with us and within us; PRAISE GOD FOR THE MYSTERY OF HIS SPIRITUAL PRESENCE; The Holy Spirit speaks to us in ways that are unique and special for each person. PRAISE GOD FOR THE MARVEL OF HIS COMMUNICATION WITH US;

8. The Holy Spirit comes to us in the alarm clock, waking us to a new, unlived day; PRAISE GOD FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO LIVE, GROW AND LEARN. The Holy Spirit comes to us in the advertisements of creation: PRAISE GOD FOR LIGHT AND WISDOM, INGENUITY AND IMAGINATION;

25. THE HOLY SCRIPTURE ACTS 2:1-11 When the day of Pentecost had come, they [the disciples] were all together in one place.
