2. What is evaluation? Evaluation is when a reader decides what they like or do not like about what they have read. Evaluation is the reader’s chance to assess the book or text.

3. When do you evaluate a text? As a reader, you can evaluate a text DURING reading. As a reader, you can evaluate a text AFTER reading. In other words, evaluate the text during and after reading.

4. How do you evaluate a text? Decide if the author was able to make the story come to life. Decide if the story was informative, entertaining or useful. Think about how well you understood the text. Decide if you enjoyed the text.

5. What questions can you ask to evaluate a text? Did I like the story? What did I like about the story? What did I dislike? Explain. What does the story make me think of? Does the story remind me of anything? Why?
