Welcome to Yakeny Paper Plane Assembly Co.’s new guide to building yourself a simple, ordinary, technically disadvantaged, cut- down version of a Stealth Bomber. Actually, it’s not stealthy, it can’t carry bombs (or anything for that matter!) and it’s nothing more than a paper plane! Ha Ha, fooled you all!!! Now, wasn’t that a good intro? Hmmm, I think that deserves an A+!! Anyway, now for the formalities… This project is aimed for the “younger” members of our society and no, that doesn’t mean you 13 - 19 year-olds, it means anyone under the age of five who hasn’t yet achieved full control over their motor skills! Introduction...

 1.Turn the paper so that it is in an ‘Up-And-Down’ alignment.  2.Fold the page in half lengthways.  3.Unfold the paper. Part I

 4.Align the paper in an upright/portrait position.  5.Fold down the two top corners to the center crease. Part II

 6.Next fold the same two corners that you just folded to the center crease to make thinner, longer triangles.  7.Fold the whole construction in half. Part III

 8.Finally, fold the two halves of the top of the triangular shape down from nose to tail. Part IV

 NEVER point the aeroplane at any people, animals or your mother’s priceless ming vases!  ALWAYS use the plane under adult supervision.  REMEMBER (#1) to never play near a road.  REMEMBER (#2) it is made of paper but it can put an eye out! Safety Warnings...

 To throw the aeroplane, hold it between thumb and forefinger about 5cm from the nose of the plane and swing your hand forward with the plane at about head height. Let go of the plane at the front of your swing.  To make it go a little further, angle the plane upward a little.  TRICKS:To make the plane do a back flip, fold the trailing edge of the wings (the back edge) upward. To make the plane do a nose-dive, fold the same part of the wings downward. Helpful Hints...

 This production was finished on the 5th of August 1999.  Production by Nicholas Zachary.  Text by Nicholas Zachary.  Pics C/O http://www.csu.unc.edu/~andre/pplane.html *  * this site may not work any more as it may have moved since the last year when the pics were acquired.  YAKENY © 1999 Nicholas Zachary  Nicholas Zachary accepts no liability to any damage caused by the construction of the plane within this production.
