WRITING PENALTIES Remember, when someone gets a ‘Double Minor’ for “Roughing” that is two separate penalties on the score sheet. If someone gets a 2+10 penalty, that gets recorded as two separate penalties on the sheet and they are consecutive to each other.
20
WRITING PENALTIES The “MIN” column – this is how many minutes the penalty is assessed.
21
WRITING PENALTIES The “OFF” column – this is when the player entered the penalty box – ‘off’ the ice.
22
WRITING PENALTIES The “START” column – this is the time the penalty actually started on the clock.
23
WRITING PENALTIES The “ON” column – this is the time the penalty actually expired. When recording a 10 minute or coincidental penalty you should record the time the penalty would be over – even if the player can not go on the ice until a stoppage of play.
